  • IS WAXING BETTER THAN SHAVING?
Shaving cuts the hair below the surface of the skin and the darker color of the hair makes skin appear dark. Waxing is the best solution because it pulls the hair out of the follicle (root), allowing the hair to grow back thinner each time.
  • WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF WAXING?
Waxing helps with dark marks or hyperpigmentation of the skin. Waxing exfoliates the skin by removing dead skin cells which leaves the area smooth. Waxing causes less irritation than shaving. Waxing lasts 3-4 weeks.
  • CAN I GET WAXED WHILE ON MY PERIOD?
Yes you can, as long as you wear a tampon during your service (side note: Some women are more sensitive while on their cycle)
  • IS WAXING PAINFUL?
Your first wax is considered your worse because of shaving. Exfoliating with a sugar scrub is key to alleviate pain. Don’t worry, most people say its not as bad as they anticipated. Just relax and stay calm.
  • HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR HAVE TO BE TO GET WAXED?
If you shave, allow the hair to grow for at least 2 weeks. This is to ensure all or most of the hair comes up smoothly. If the hair is too short, it will cause the hair to break above the surface which causes ingrown hairs.
  • HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY WAX?
Make sure you’re well hydrated. Always use a sugar scrub to exfoliate before your wax. This process removes dead skin cells and will allow the hair to come up easier. This also lessens the pain.
  • CAN I SHAVE INBETWEEN WAXES?
No, you shouldn’t go back to shaving once you start waxing. Your hair is being trained to grow on the same growth cycle. Some women say it feels like your first wax.
  • CAN I GET WAXED WHILE PREGNANT?
Yes you can. (Side note: Some women experience more sensitivity while pregnant due to increase of hormones in the body)
